WIP Wednesday

Here we are in the middle of another week, and getting closer to Spring!! Hurray!
I have been working hard all week doing my Swoonalong blocks, and I'm happy with how they turned out so far. They sure are BIG blocks though! I'm thinking of only doing 4 and then doing partial blocks for the borders.
The bottom left photo looks pink, but it is actually mauve!
Here is a close-up photo of the blocks.

Test Your Skills Sampler
TYSS
is back in the swing of things, so I have started the 2 blocks  for that.
The first in a diamond in a square. It's a RARE thing when I don't cut off points, so this makes me very happy! The block finishes at 9".

The second block is called Fifty-four Forty or Fight.
I was feeling so pleased with the first block, that instead of patting myself on the back, I should have been paying more attention.......
Ya! Ya! Story of my life!
The block is supposed to look like this.
image from here.
As I am in the habit of doing, I concentrated on the cutting and piecing of the block before I checked that the fabric colour was correct....
I pieced it so well too...*whine* and *sigh*
Completely reversed the colours of the triangle blocks!!! It looks nothing like it is supposed to......however, I love this block! Now, I will have to search for the name of it- I'm sure it has one somewhere. It looks like tulips except for the wonky colour. So, somewhere down the road, I'll use this block with more appropriate colours.
I need to change my blog name to The Accidental Quilter!!
All of my previous UFO's remain untouched..........
Maybe this week I'll get to them...
or not. ;-).

Your swoon blocks are lovely. What's a point or two compared to the joy of a block? (Or so I tell myself!)

Your swoon blocks look great. I am just getting started on my Swoon Quilt and have already made a mistake so I need to start over on that block. But then again that's what I get for trying to sew while I was sick.
