WIP Wednesday 28-08-2013

I don't know what it is about this summer that I can't get organized to do a WIP post! Sheesh!
You'd think I was getting old or something equally ridiculous!
I have actually completed a WIP, and also started and finished a second one!
Which still leaves several WIP's hanging out somewhere!
So, first of all, a finish!!
Marcelle Medallion-whoo hoo!
The most fun making a quilt.....ever!
In the started and finished quickly category is a test quilt I did for a pattern by M-R@ Quilt Matters.
Incredible pattern, and I LOVE this quilt!
Falling for Stripes.
Now, for the sad WIP news!
I can't believe I have abandoned Bella's Curves for so long....
She is in desperate need of some backing and then some quilting.
I hate making backing!
Also in a circling mode is Vintage Nine Patch.

Again, backing needs to just magically appear!
I've been doing lots of small projects and bee blocks instead of my WIP's.....
Love doing some Zakka Along 2.0 projects....

Of course, bee blocks are slowly getting made, and I did make one cute sleeping bag pouch that I seen all over Flickr!

maybe September will get me shifted into the right gear, and I can get back to those quilts.

Your finishes are all gorgeous as usual. And on the making backing, I'm with ya sister.

I love your quilts, especially the medallion one. I found backs slowing me down so much I bought a number of nice, soft sheets to take their place for those times when I just could not make one. What a summer you have had.

What a wonderful set of projects! I especially like "Falling for Stripes" and your Vintage Nine Patch top. Can you tell that I have a weakness for stripes?

Cool. Love the stripes quilt. As for backing, why not just use one piece? Works for me - but then I hand quilt and don't like all those seams.

Congratulations on your finish! The other projects you've shown here look great too.

I love your quilts, such pretty colour combinations. It's too bad you hate making backings. I love doing it, as part of the process to go with the front, but sometimes I just want something simple, and purchase yardage. Easy, peasy.

i cheat on the backing, i use fleece blankets from ikea and quilt straight onto the fleece, its soft to lay under, doesn't fall off, and usually just needs one seam to join two together. technically its a coverlet not a quilt, but technically i don't care!!!!!
