Well, it appears that summer doesn't want to come here yet!
Supposed to stop raining and warm up by the week-end.......I sure hope so! Although the sun is shining this morning-good sign!!
So, I've spent this last week sewing...poor me!
On the WIP stage is Ironwork* which is basted and in the process of being quilted. It's all being done with the even feed foot, so no FMQ this time.
I used a very high tech design program...:-) ;-)
I'm about a quarter of the way done. A TON of threads to bury!!
So, I'm doing them after every 2-3 blocks.
I took some time to do a couple of unscheduled things.......
I ordered some supplies to make key fobs which arrived when I was on holiday. Did a few of them.
Very quick and easy to do...
A month or so ago, I purchased 2 patterns from Amy at During Quiet Time.
She has this amazing series of garden themed paper pieced patterns. I got the boot and garden gloves.....
I decided to make a market tote......
Look at that boot pattern!! Amazing or what!
Laurie Wisbrun's rain boot fabric (aka-Wellies) is a perfect compliment to the boots.
The boot fabric is Bee In My Bonnet by Lori Holt.
I'm not sure what the gardening text is.
For the inside I used a laminate.

I made the gardening gloves block, but darn it, the fabrics were a wrong choice and the glove didn't show up well.
I love these gloves though, and I will use this block for something else once I do some outlining around the top glove.
I don't have any more of the background text, which is too bad. I really like it.
The last thing I did was re-organize my fabric. I had the tutorial by Angela bookmarked for ages, but it wasn't until I saw that Carly at Citric Sugar had bought the comic book backs locally, that I was motivated to get busy.
They come in packs of 100.....I bought one.......shall I wait until you stop laughing??
Then I went back and got 200 more...
I know I don't need to explain to you why I have so much :-), but they are almost all half yard cuts!
I still need another pack for the fabric in buckets and drawers..
I need to stop buying and start using!!

Oh, I just love your projects. So fun. And I'm not laughing at the number of comic book boards. I use this method to store fabric and I went through about 400 of the suckers. The only problem I have is re-stacking the shelves after I pull done fabric for a project. Guess I need to be more like a librarian. ;)

I love all of your paper pieced projects! Oh, and I use your same kind of high tech expensive design program as well....and I like it! Nothing like a pencil and paper.
I love that boot! So cute! I have my fabric stored on the comic boards too. Intially a lot of organizing but well worth it!

Love the rubber boot bag and I really love the fabrics you chose. Well I am amazed about using comic book boards for fabric. What a great idea. Both my sons collected comic books.....I'm almost positive we have some of those boards in a box somewhere....hmmmm:)

Way to go for organizing your fabric stash! I've got some boards, but they're still naked. :-/ Doesn't do any good, does it. :)
And I love the boot bag. I made a bee block for a friend like that with Laurie's original boot fabric. It was really fun to do!

I had to laugh at the comic boards because I did the EXACT same thing. Bought 100 to start and was back there within hours to get 200 more... I've still got plenty left over though. My goal is to keep from hitting 300 (which my budget will prevent me from doing for quite a while - ha!)Your stash looks very organized and pretty.
Your stash looks fabulous! And I truly love the boot bag. The gloves are sweet too - I'm sure you'll do something wonderful with them!

I've been buying the little cubby storage units as I can afford them (2 so far) to make attempts to organize my craft room.
I can guarantee more projects done if I can see what materials I have and easily get to it.
Those totes are much too nice to be used! And the gloves are visible enough.....
The quilting plan looks great, I love the wellies and the gloves, and as for the fabric, we can never have *too* much!
