Out with old...in with the new!
So!!! I took the plunge and invested in a new machine...
Yes, it's a Janome Horizon 7700. Kissa and Sheriti are putting it through their inspection process for everything new!
Passed inspection and inserted in the table..."gift with purchase"!
AND...in it's own room too! Well, its really a spare bedroom, but still...
I whipped up an ironing board to fit on top of the dresser as well.
Not a great cutting table. It's an old card table and way too low for comfort. But it will do for now.
How much do I love the 1/4 " foot with the bumper!! OMG!
No pain....
No gain! This is the Kissy Fish tutorial by Lee at Freshly Pieced. I love this quilt so much! But all that squaring up of little hst;s ...holy cow! The fabric is mostly Frolic with a few stash items thrown in.
Trying to get the placement right! Sorry about the flannel striped designboard!! I'll post a real finished picture soon.
Thanks Lee for a great quilt tutorial.

What a gorgeous blog you have. I love the cats, your quilts are so fresh and modern and so is your blog. I also have a Horizon and I absolutely love it - after using the same very old very cheap machine I'd had for about 30 years, it was a revolution. Let me know if you would like me to find out where Aurifil is available in Canada! What a lovely brother you have though, bringing some over for you.

That's clever - the ironing board to fit the top of a cupboard. What did you use to make it?

Hi Patti,
I just found your blog via your win of the Go Baby! I'm in Saskatoon, too, and am a bit of a beginner. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get your sewing machine. I'm just about to start the search after finishing my first solo quilt top on my older model basic Singer for which I couldn't get a quarter inch foot. I had a heck of a time sewing an accurate quarter inch seam and while it might have been partly "me", I do think I'd have done better with a more appropriate machine.
Nice to meet you. I'll follow via Google Reader. - 9 August 2011 at 21:54
