Leaping February Giveaway!

Yikes! I have been feeling so yukky today with a sore throat and body aches, I almost forgot to pick a winner!
This should cheer me up !
Couldn't figure out how to put the widget in my post(duh), so it's up there on the right!
I had 28 entries and MR Random Organizer picked
lucky number 13!!!!
who is...
Jaime!!
Congratulations Jaime, and I will e-mail you.
 EDITED TO ADD...
Didn't have my glasses on and thought the name was Janine instead of Jaime!!
It is actually Jaime who was #13, and at least I e-mailed the right person!!
Sorry for my confusion!!

WIP Wednesday

The sun is shining on another beautiful WIP Wednesday! I think Spring is going to come...don't you!
Well, what have I done this week.
I did the second block in Sew Out Loud QAL.

SOL QAL
Another fantastic block and so much fun to do.
Here is my version...

The third block is posted and I'm looking at fabrics for it! Woohoo!
I actually got back to Path to Tallahassee this week!
I really missed doing these blocks, but they are very time consuming and foundation paper pieced.
Here are the two I did...

On the week-end I did up a small doll quilt using the Lil' Twister ruler for a Twist Along .
The fabric is a charm pack of Just Wing It and borders are Bella Solids in Aqua.
I had a few self imposed issues, but in the end it was a quick and fun project.
Just need some borders and/or binding.

I didn't do any FMQ this week and I'm kinda mad at myself about that.
I need so much practice and can't afford to slack off!

Hope everyone else has had a great sewing week. I'm linking up with Lee at Freshly Pieced and Monika at The Needle & Thread Network.

Twist and ...give your head a shake!

This past week-end I started working on a Lil Twister small quilt as part of the Twist Along .
For some reason I had this per-conceived idea of how this Lil' Twister ruler was supposed to work....

I dutifully started cutting into my quilt...
all of the blocks were cut out...
Now, if you have done the Twister quilt before, you know what to do.
I, on the other hand, only thought I knew what to do.
I pulled, stretched and twisted this poor carcass until I was almost screaming.
Only then did I read Sharon's instructions..:-).
Give your head a big shake Patti!!!!!!!!!!!
So, I had a good laugh at myself and proceeded to do it properly.
Isn't it amazing how well something goes together when you do it right!
TA DA!
It does seem to waste a lot of fabric though, I must say.
I did cut off the little 2.5" squares from the carcass and saved them, so maybe not any more wasteful than other things.
Not quite the end of my saga though...
I did manage to scorch the poor thing as well...
 hadn't ever done that before!
So I went to the internet to see how to fix this, and for the most part it looks okay.
Probably only I would notice it now.
It is quite small as it is - 21x24 , so I haven't decided if I will just bind it or add borders first.
Lesson well learned this week-end!

WIP Wednesday

This week has been full of fun for me.
My obsession with foundation paper piecing continues!
I started the week with a teapot cozy using the block from verykerryberry in Fat Quarterly, and her tutorial for the teapot cozy! Love it so much!

The foundation pieced teacup on the back is from piecebynumbers
Then I accidentally joined .....

SOL QAL
I seriously did not intend to, but when I saw the first block by Julianna!.......could not resist.....I have no will power!
And I am determined to conquer paper piecing!!
So, here is my first block....

Had a blast doing this, and there are a few things I would change......
but again...
Love it!
The second block is out now  from Shape Moth....yipee!

More fun for me this week was doing FMQ! I know, surprising, right!
I am still working on my Swoon block, so this is what got done this week...

This is the block before FMQ!

This is Loopy Paisley!

This is Star Flower Bands!
Both are Leah Day designs.

I don't have a clue what I was trying to do here!! Some kinda bug??
Your guess is as good as mine! :_(
Pretty lame, I know.
Also, you can almost see the feathers I did in the  green triangle area .
But, look at the back....

 OOOh!
Love it more that the front I do believe!

I have completely abandoned all my other projects including Path to Tallahassee, Ocean View From The Prairies, Can You See Me Now.
