blog hop-day #3
Another incredible blog hop!
She has also enlisted a fantastic cheerleader in
Katherine who blogs at
Sew Me Something Good.
Today, I am going to show you the coin purses I made using the pattern provided by
Madame Samm.
You can purchase the pattern here.
I have made glue in framed purses in the past...
but this is my first attempt at the
sew in variety.
So, I bought
The first one I did as a "practice" sample before doing the actual one!!
However, it went together without any problems!
I know I'll be taking it apart resewing the frame!
But I decided to try another one...
Well, the sew-in went so much better on this one, and it helped that the purple perle cotton I used was the same shade as the lining!
The third frame I had was larger than the first two...somewhere around 3.5"
So, I drew out my own pattern for this one.
I also used this amazing tap transfer paper to make my own design on the fabric!!
Since it is a coin purse, I used photos of our colourful Canadian money!
I plan to try it again someday!
and I might even cut it out with the printing going in the right direction :-)
don't judge me! I'm flawed! ;-) ;-)
Oh yeah!
Loving this one too!
and look! no stitches showing on the inside!
I really love the copper colour of the frame too!
There are so many gorgeous frames available, and in every shape and size you could imagine.
These are very addictive, but Christmas is coming!
The perfect gift for friends and family, or a hostess gift!
Now, if you have gotten through the whole post to this point....I'm going to have a little giveaway! This giveaway is now closed! Thank you!
How about an open wide zippered pouch! I used the grey bottom to offset the
seizure inducing colours on the top!
I'll stuff it with 4 fat quarters of Marguerite by Riley Blake.
Mr random generator will pick a winner on Nov. 13th.
Here is a final photo of the three framed purses playing nice together...
And after the snow!
I hope you have had an enjoyable visit here with me today!
Thank you Madame Samm & Katherine.

I'd like to try to make a coin purse but I honestly can't get to any new projects until June of next year. I always plan too many and the ones for early next year actually have deadlines.

Wow -- these are all really CUTE! I like the variety of handles you used, too. Where'd you get them? Anyplace special? I've made one ... but I certainly *do* plan on making more! :)
And I'm a new follower! :)
lovely work thanks for sharing!
After seeing all these adorable creations on the blog hop, I think I must make some for Christmas!! Just too cute!! Thanks so much for sharing and for the chance to win such a great prize pack!
I loved the yellow interior of the last purse, but kinda partial to purple. I also am direction-ally challenged. Even when I try to get things right side up, I spend lots of time ripping it out to re-arange.
Okay I confess.....I ordered 5 frames! After seeing all these beautiful coin purses I may need more! Thank you for some great inspiration. And thank you for the chance to win a fabulous prize!
I am now a follower. I can't wait to see what else you have in store to share!
I have 2 frames and the pattern! I will order more frames this week for sure! They will make great Christmas presents! Thanks for this giveaway!
I am a follower!
Your purses are lovely! Like you I have only used glue-in frames so will definitely have to give the sew-in ones a try.
I am a follower too :)
Love your versions of the coin purse.
I bought the pattern and one frame (to start). I'm in the process of trying to decide which of my beautiful cotton fabrics I will use. I think making the fabric choice is going to be the hardest part of this project.
Love your purses and I especially like the Canadian coin purse. I think the fabric is just perfect, When I'm shaking the purse to check for fabric money the words are upright.;)
I love the yellow lining on your last little purse. All your purses are so cute!!
I was in this blog hop, so I made several of these little purses. They ARE addictive!
I'm a new follower!

I love ALL your purses!! I made a few coin purses -- slightly different pattern (doesn't have the cute bottom, lol) -- they are on my blog. And once I saw the first day of the Hop, I bought the UR Priceless pattern and can't wait to make more. But now that I've see yours, I want to make all sizes!
I am a (new) follower!
First, I want to say I'm a new follower and that I love the name of your blog!!! lol Fits me, too. :)
All 3 of your coin purses are wonderful. Looks like you've had lots of great practice with all the other purses you've made. I love that bright yellow print for the lining. Thank you for sharing with us all and for a chance to win a giveaway. I'm looking forward to more great blogging entries.

Patti, your coin purses look wonderful! I love the Canadian money on transfer paper. I'll have to get some of that paper. I do plan to make some after seeing so many cute purses.
I'm a new follower :-)
Thanks for the giveaway.
I will definatly try my hand at one of these. That fabric fussy cut will make perfect purses.
Lots of cuteness going on! Was the last one stitched in or glued in? I wondered since you mentioned you couldn't see the stitching. Seems like gluing would be easy....says the gal who has never made one of any kind! :)
Oh and congrats on your nomination!
They are all pretty, but the fabric is just way too cute
I've made some, and I'm going to make more as soon as I get more frames. They are lots of fun to make.
Very nice! I had my day yesterday! So, yes I have dabbled in frames a little :)
Very cute purses, yes I have already bought some frames and have gotten so many ideas from this blog hop. Thanks from a fellow Canadian for sharing

You know, while I love those purses, and just know I have some fabrics that would be perfect for them, I'm trying to be strict with myself and finish up most of my UFO's before I start ANYTHING new.
I'm a follower.
I love your coin purses and the handles are great! Until this blog hop, I'd never made a handled purse like this of any kind and didn't even know about the glue on handles. :-) Well, I can't say that any more since I'm finishing up coin purse #5! Thanks for sharing your creations with us today.
I have been so inspired with the coin purses in this blog hop. Yes, of course I have to try them, and everyone keeps saying how relatively easy they are and what great Christmas gifts they'll make..!

I am loving these coin purses and wishing I had joined this blog hop! You did a great job!
Cute, cute, cute! And I love your sense of humor! lol I had never made either a glue in or a sew in purse before joining up with this blog hop. And I find that they are soooo much fun! Do you like to do the glue in or the sew on type better? I made sure to go back through where I came out with the needle when i was sewing through the lining...so that my stitches didnt show.
Thank you for a chance for your wonderful giveaway!
Blessings & Aloha!
I am at our daughter, son in law, and grandbaby's home visiting, but wanted to stop by and check out the amazing coin purses!
